Dead by Daylight Movie
The 4 versus 1 online multiplayer game, Dead by Daylight, will be getting a movie adaptation; though, it is unclear when. Film writer, director, producer James Wan plans to collaborate with film producer Jason Blum to work on the new Dead by Daylight movie. Behaviour Interactive, the developers behind Dead by Daylight, had also confirmed Wan’s production company, Atomic Monster, and Blum’s production company, Blumhouse, will all be working to make this movie a reality.
Stephen Mulrooney, executive vice president at Behaviour Interactive said in a release, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Jason Blum and James Wan, two giants of the horror film industry, to further expand the ‘Dead by Daylight’ universe… At Behaviour, our motto is to create unique moments, together, forever. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are the ideal partners to craft ‘Dead by Daylight’s’ killer entrance onto the big screen.”
Wan had also said, “In ‘Dead by Daylight’ the Behaviour team has created a love letter to the world of horror, building an incredible environment teeming with atmosphere and terrifying villains — perfect for a scary cinematic adaptation. We’re big fans of the game at Atomic Monster, and are thrilled to be teaming up with Blumhouse to bring this frighteningly visceral world to the big screen.” Blum stated, “We know our partners at Behaviour ‘Interactive’ and Atomic Monster will help us bring the best version of this game to life.”
Dead by Daylight has reached over 50 million players all over the globe since its release back in 2016 and about 2 million players playing the game every day to this day. Fans are unsure how the movie will correlate to the game. Some hope the movie will be about the game’s antagonist, The Entity. If that were true, they could create a Dead by Daylight show with each killer in the game playing a part per episode. Others believe a show isn’t happening and the movie will be all we get. They also think it’ll include some iconic characters, if not all. The likeliness of iconic characters being included like Michael Myers, Ghost Face, Nemesis, and Albert Wesker are far and few between, but not impossible.
Both Wan and Blum had created some icons in the horror film genre. The two have played a huge part on films such as Get Out (2017), Annabelle (2014), The Purge (2013), Paranormal Activity (2007), and Saw (2004). There has also been talk the two are planning to merge their production companies, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse. It is also not new the two companies have worked on projects together. M3gan was the latest film having been released January 6, 2023. It is unclear when the merge may take place.

Dead by Daylight had started in 2016. It is an asymmetric survival horror video game developed by Behaviour Interactive. The game is played as a one-versus-four online multiplayer game where one player takes on the role of a savage killer and the other four play as survivors trying to escape the killer and avoid being caught and sacrificed to a malevolent force known as the Entity.
